Dragon Boat Racing for fundraising for breast cancer suvivors

The Townsville Dragon Boat Club and Dragons Abreast have kindly invited the Chinese Club members to bring a team to participate in the ‘Splash Of Pink Corporate Regatta’ in dragon Boat racing on the Ross River at the Loam Island Community Centre on the 29th October 2017.

Beginning of the Event, we had the dotting of the Club’s new pink Dragon Boat for Dragons abreast (breast cancer survivors) to briefing and history of the Club, demonstrating and learning the skills of paddling the dragon boats.

A total of eight teams from local schools and community clubs competed. Team players and audience were elated with enthusiasm and joy as they paddled to the finishing line. Our team were scheduled in three races, recording our own best time of 1min 21 seconds in the third race. We were proudly in the seventh place of the racing. Our team ‘Go China’ did a fabulous job!

Special thanks to Debbie and Cheryl from the Townsville Dragon Boat Club who looked after our team. A fabulous day of community team spirit.
